In Cimmerian operations, the leader who
creates the overarching scenario is the OpCom
(Operation Commander). The OpCom has the resources of all Cimmerians at
his disposal to get the job done. It can be a challenging and rewarding
job for an experienced club member.
As OpCom you can plan and execute your operation according to your tactical
and organizational vision. New rules can be devised to highten the excitement
and create more realistic Milsim combat. The planning stages will be reviewed by
CimCom to identify and "lessons learned" from previous operations that will help
your Op be a success, so you're not 'on your own'.
When the operation is underway the OpCom acts as higher command for both
opposing teams. Giving orders of march and maneuvering the teams into contact
can be a big kick! But the most engaging part of the OpCom job is to see the
unplanned inputs of Mr. Murphy ( Murphy's Laws of
Combat) and how your TacCom's handle the unexpected. This is realistic
simulation. Our OpCom's have seen everything from the insertion 'aircraft'
(Deuce+1/2) missing the drop zone by a mile to a recon platoon scouting the
wrong rocky outcropping because of
GPS malfunction (don't use GPS in trees if your life depends on them). OpCom is
the best seat in the house.
If you've got an idea for a great operation and the where with all to make it
happen, any experienced Cimmerian can volunteer for this assignment by emailing
command@cimmerians.org.
