AAR - IRON WOLF

Op - Went well with good action, good technical patrol work, and a solid scenario thread that everyone followed and stayed in-character. Having a person who is a "getting shot at" veteran of the Bosnian War help that too.
Some hard E&E and CSAR lessons were learned.
Movement in snow is very taxing. We executed 3 planned evolutions. Insertion and extraction were very challenging.

BSA REPORT --
BSA P(ersonnell) R(ecovery) T(eam) 7th Troop
20-MAR-04
CLASSIFIED LOCATION

At 0930 hours, a helicopter was shot down in our territory.  PRT 7 was
activated and responded to retrieve the enemy downed pilot, along with
his co-pilot, both believed to have survived the crash.
Upon arrival to the crash LZ, the 4 man assault team began a tactical
sweep of the area surrounding the crash site.  Within the first 10
minutes, the team acquired one target, who was later identified as the
co pilot.  Due to the resistance level, the target had to be eliminated
and could not be returned for questioning.

The squad RTO was monitoring the Recovery Broadcast Channel that was
being utilized by the pilot.  His position was triangulated, the
Commander was deployed to capture and retrieve while the remaining
element placed a deterrent against the inserted US rescue team.  The
pilot was found hiding in the bushes south of the crash site, and was
successfully surrendered and moved near the downed aircraft.  Initial
interrogations yielded no useful information.

PRT 7 fortified the area around the crash site while a request was
relayed to BSACOM to confirm an updated recovery status on the captured
pilot.  It was deemed that the pilot was not useful, other than
potential bait to acquire and eliminate the US forces inserted illegally
onto our land.  All meaningful data on any storage devices was
considered non useful.  We allowed the pilot to be viewed, and began a
vocal campaign of information designed to lure our targets into range.
This proved to be ineffective, so the pilot's left foot was removed to
encourage the US forces to hurry in.  Several attempts were made by US
forces to retrieve the pilot, and all operators were eliminated.  During
the final stages, the pilot was eliminated, and the PRT moved out on
standby for glazing by MIG's already in route.  Our team suffered
minimal losses during the incursion.
